A five-game winning streak wouldnt be anything out of the ordinary for the Anaheim Ducks. For the Calgary Flames, itd mark a season best and complete a perfect road trip. A win in Anaheim on Wednesday night, however, would be even more noteworthy. One of these Pacific Division teams will head into the All-Star break on a high note, and an Anaheim victory would extend its league-best point total entering the five-day break. A Calgary win would end more than a decade of regular-season futility at Honda Center. The Flames (25-18-3) have won five straight on the road, including the first four of their trip after Mondays 2-1 overtime win over Los Angeles. They last strung together six wins away from Calgary from Feb. 12-March 5, 2009. However, they last won a regular-season game in Anaheim on Jan. 19, 2004, going 0-14-5 since for the NHLs longest active road losing streak in a series. A 20th straight win for the Ducks (30-10-6) would match the fourth-longest home winning streak in a series in league history. Its Calgary, though, which has cleaned up against Pacific opponents this season with a 14-3-1 record, while Anaheim is 9-3-5. The Flames four-game run has come against Pacific teams as theyve allowed five goals, but its the latest in a streaky stretch. In the past 23 contests, Calgary has posted three four-game winning streaks and losing streaks of eight and three. Bob Hartleys team has won consecutive games in overtime and outscored opponents 6-1 in the third period and OT in the last four. Against the Kings, Sean Monahan scored for the third straight game to tie it in the third, and Dennis Wideman scored in the final minute of overtime for his second goal in two games. Whenever you get involved in a tie game late in the third period, it can go either way, and weve been very fortunate, Hartley told the teams official website. It seems to go our way right now. Joni Ortio has been in goal for the entire trip while Karri Ramo was on injured reserve. Hes posted a 1.23 goals-against average since being called up from Adirondack of the AHL on Jan. 8 and wasnt sent down when Ramo was activated Tuesday.
