CF Austin Jackson Antworten

ALAMEDA, Calif. Renell Wren Jersey . -- The Oakland Raiders filled their void at left tackle on Wednesday by signing free agent Donald Penn to a two-year contract. Penn fills the opening created when Jared Veldheer left as a free agent for Arizona and left unfilled when Rodger Saffold failed his physical after agreeing to a five-year, $42.5 million deal with Oakland. NFL Network reported that Penns contract is worth $9.6 million with $4.2 million guaranteed. Oakland also announced that safety Usama Young officially signed the two-year deal he agreed to last week to return to the Raiders. Penn, who turns 30 next month, was released earlier this month by Tampa Bay after the Buccaneers signed Anthony Collins to a five-year, $30 million contract to take over at left tackle. Penn struggled in pass protection last season with Tampa Bay, allowing 12 sacks, including nine in the final six games, according to Pro Football Focus. Only one tackle -- Will Beatty of the Giants -- was blamed for more sacks last season. Penn also allowed 28 quarterback hurries and six quarterback hits and ranked in the middle of the pack in terms of total pressures allowed. Penn was more successful as a run blocker -- an area where the Raiders needed improvement this off-season. He has played in 122 career games over his eight seasons with Tampa Bay, including 108 consecutive starts at left tackle since 2007. Penn visited Oakland last week but left without signing a deal. He then met with the Washington Redskins about playing right tackle before finally ending up back with the Raiders. The Raiders have placed a high priority in free agency on upgrading the offensive line, having also reached deals with right tackle Austin Howard and interior lineman Kevin Boothe. They also re-signed Khalif Barnes before he hit the open market. The Raiders had little continuity on the line last season as injuries and poor play forced Oakland to use eight different starting line combinations. Young joined Oakland last season on a one-year deal with expectations of becoming the starting free safety. But a little more than a month after signing Young, the Raiders signed Charles Woodson to a one-year deal to fill that spot. Young moved into a backup role and played well when he got his chance on defence and special teams. He started once in his 12 games before being placed on injured reserve with a neck injury in December. The 29-year-old Young had one interception, three passes defenced and 2 1/2 sacks last season with the Raiders, playing about one-quarter of the defensive snaps when healthy. Andy Dalton Youth Jersey . The international synchronized skating competition takes place from January 31 - February 1, 2014, and features 39 teams from 10 countries, in senior, junior, and novice. Now he has a complete game. Scherzer tossed a three-hitter in his 179th career start for his first complete game and Victor Martinez hit his 16th homer to lead the Detroit Tigers a 4-0 win over the Chicago White Sox. "Its awesome," said Scherzer, who threw 113 pitches. "I finally got the monkey off my back. "I was finally able to go nine and finish the deal, so its good feeling." Scherzer (8-2) was back in his 2013 Cy Young form, striking out eight and walking three while outdueling Chicago starter Chris Sale (5-1). Only three times did the White Sox have men in scoring position. "I was surprised when I found out that he had no complete games," Detroit manager Brad Ausmus said. "But he wanted this one for sure. He was on his game tonight. He has a Cy Young for reason." Sale was nearly as sharp as Scherzer. He struck out 10 -- all swinging -- to match a season high and allowed five hits in seven innings. "When you face Sale, youve got to bring your A" game," Scherzer said. "Theres no room for error." Martinez hit a solo shot into the left field bullpen to lead off the fifth for the only run off Sale. Miguel Cabrera drove in two runs with an infield single with two out in the eighth of reliever Jake Petricka to put the Tigers ahead 3-0. Bryan Holiday drove in an insurance run in the ninth. Sale didnt allow a baserunner until Rajai Davis led off the fourth with a single and left the game with Detroit leading 1-0. But Scherzer was a bit better. "He was dominant," Sale said of Scherzer. "You know coming into this, you know who youre going up against and its not going to be easy. "For a long time there, it was whos going to flinch first and unfortunately it was me." Scherzer had allowed 20 runs over 26 1-3 innings in his previous four starts, going 1-1. The right-hander pitched nine innings once before in a game, on Sept. 1, 2010, in 2-1 10-inning loss to Minnesoota. Jessie Bates III Youth Jersey. Martinez, who entered the game second in the AL with .330 average, extended his hitting streak to seven games as the Tigers ended a three-game losing streak and won for just the third time in their last 11. By salvaging the final game of its rain-shortened series against the White Sox, first-place Detroit widened its AL Central lead to 2 1/2 games over idle Kansas City. Martinez is batting .327 against Chicago in 154 games with 24 homers and is 13 for 25 (.520) against Sale. Sale rebounded nicely from his previous start, a no-decision last Saturday in Anaheim when he took a three-hit shutout and 5-0 lead into the eighth against the Angels, but then fell apart. Scherzer walked Alejandro De Aza and Adam Eaton in the third for the games first two baserunners. But Gordon Beckham flew out deep to right to end the threat. Davis led off the fourth with the games first hit, a smashed, one-bounce single off the glove of White Sox third baseman Conor Gillaspie. But Sale picked Davis off during the next at-bat. NOTES: Sale struck out at least 10 and walked none for the third time in his career. .. Cabrera moved back to first base after a left hamstring pull restricted him to DH for two games. CF Austin Jackson entered the game with 10 hits in his last 20 at-bats -- but is just 2-for-30 lifetime against Sale and didnt start. "Its just really a good time to give him (Jackson) a day off," Tigers manager Brad Ausmus said. "You want to give guys a day off, generally speaking, against pitchers they dont do as well against." Rajai Davis moved to centre field and J.D. Martinez starting in left.
