ABUJA, July 28 (Xinhua) -- Nigeria's police on Friday confirmed the killing of a policeman by an irate mob in Onitsha, a business district in the southeastern state of Anambra.


The mob had accused the deceased policeman of forcibly stopping an articulated vehicle carrying sand, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle and resulting in a fatal accident on Thursday.

She expressed disappointment over the development, saying the youths chose an illegal mob action over reporting the matter to the local police.
