HAVANA Nike Air VaporMax Plus Men's White , March 18 (Xinhua) -- Cuba granted on Friday the highest state honor to visiting Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.


At a ceremony held at Havana's Revolution Palace, Cuban President Raul Castro honored Maduro with the Jose Marti Order.


The Venezuelan leader, who arrived here in the early hours of Friday, said that he took this Order with "the commitment of loyalty to the ideas of the founding fathers Nike Air VaporMax Plus Men's Yellow Black , Fidel Castro and Hugo Chavez."


The Jose Marti Order is granted by the Cuban government to Cuban or foreign citizens for their services to the cause of peace or outstanding achievements in education, culture, science, sports or creative work.


Maduro was in Havana to participate in the Cuba-Venezuela High Level Joint Commission meeting to map out a cooperation arrangement for 2016 and a plan to deal with the present epidemics of Zika Nike Air Max TN Plus Ultra Women's Black Pink , dengue and Chikungunya affecting the region.


In his talks with Maduro, Castro reiterated unconditional solidarity with Chavez, the Bolivarian revolution and the civil-military union of the Venezuelan people led by President Maduro.

Maduro's visit to Cuba came two days ahead of the arrival of U.S. President Barack Obama.

WELLINGTON， Dec. 13 (Xinhua) -- A New Zealand air force search has found a Tongan father and son who disappeared on a fishing trip on Saturday.


The P-3K2 Orion on Tuesday spotted the pair waving their tee-shirts on Hunga Tonga island， 58 kilometers northwest of the Tongan capital of Nukualofa， about an hour into their search， said Air Commodore Darryn Webb.


The Orion crew reported that the pair， who had failed to return from a day-long fishing trip off Tonga's Eua Island on Dec. 10， appeared to be well and their blue wooden boat intact， Webb said in a statement.


The crew dropped emergency supplies of water， food and a radio， and contacted the Tongan navy to arrange for their rescue， he said.


"We are very pleased with the successful outcome of this mission and for the survivors to be reunited with their family，" he said.


"Although we are thousands of miles away from those who need help， we remain ready to assist our Pacific neighbours if required."


The Orion left New Zealand early Tuesday to scour an initial search area of about 3，000 square nautical miles off Tongatapu， the largest of Tonga's three main island groups.


The mission was the 12th search and rescue operation undertaken by the New Zealand Defence Force in the Pacific since January.


The air force's NH90 helicopters and the P-3K2 Orions had flown more than 210 hours on 17 search and rescue missions in New Zealand and the Pacific since January， representing a 44-percent increase over the 147 flying hours recorded for 2015.


Missions to the Pacific accounted for about 87 percent of total hours flown on search and rescue operations this year.


SYDNEY, Nov. 20 (Xinhua) -- Leading Australian experts have called on the country's governments to hold tobacco companies accountable for damage done to people's health by taking them to court.


In an article published in the Medical Journal of Australia Nike Air Max 97 Plus Men's Racer Pink Black , public health experts from Macquarie University and Curtin University called on state and federal governments to seek remuneration from tobacco companies for the burden put on the public health system by smoking-related illnesses.


The authors, led by Macquarie University Health Studies lecturer Ross Mackenzie, said that Australia could use Canada, where the province of British Columbia's right to sue the tobacco industry was upheld by the Supreme Court Nike Air Max Plus 97 Men's Blue White , as a precedent.


"An estimated 2.6 million adult Australians were smokers in 2014, and smoking remains the country's leading preventable cause of death and disease," they wrote.

Mackenzie and colleagues said there were lessons to be learnt from the Canadian experience.

(It is) imperative that the parent (tobacco) companies remain as defendants in legal actions in order to satisfy the large damage awards necessary to provide just financial compensation," they said.


"Beyond the potential to recover billions of dollars spent on treatment of diseases caused by smoking Nike Air VaporMax Plus Grape White Purple Men's , publicity around legal action would also emphasize the health and social impacts of tobacco industry corporate behaviour, furthering the denormalization of smoking in Australia and generating public and political support for further public health measures."
